Present:  James Richards, Jay Hildebrandt, Charles Mason, Dallas Hoover, Jeffrey Jordan, Michael Keefe, Rita Girardi, Karren Helsel-Spry 

 

1.             The agenda was adopted.

 

2.             Minutes of December 17, 2001 were approved.

                The following items were unanimously approved:

                a.             Revision to Applied Animal Science

                b.             Revision to General Animal Science

                c.             Revision to Animal Biotechnology

                d.             Revision to Pre Veterinary Medicine

                e.             New Honors B.S. in Natural Resource Management

                f.              New Honors B.S. in Health & Physical Education

                g.             New Honors B.S. in Health Behavior Management

                h.             New Honors B.S. in Athletic Training

                i.              Revision to the minor – Jewish Studies

                j.              Revision to the Master of Nursing, and the Master of Health Services Administration

                k.             New Concentration in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

                l.              New Concentration in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

 

5.             Other:

                There was discussion on the new majors in Physical Therapy (DPT) and the Master of Science in Information Systems & Technology Management.  Open Hearings will be held in early February.  Immediately following the Open Hearings, barring no controversy, the Coordinating Committee on Education will meet.  They will vote via e-mail to endorse or delay the request for these items to appear on the March agenda.

 

                Note: Ken Koford, Chair, Committee on Undergraduate Studies has requested an Open Hearing for the new undergraduate major Information Systems.  It should be noted that both the Coordinating Committee on Education and the Executive Committee passed this item.  It is not on the February agenda.

 

                The B.S. in Health Studies was tabled at the Coordinating Committee on Education.  The Committee requested that Sandra Carberry be invited to the next meeting to answer questions.
