REGULAR MEETING OF THE UNIVERSITY FACULTY SENATE

I.  Meeting was convened by Senate President Jim Richards at 4:03 PM.

 

II.  The meeting agenda was adopted unanimously after Jim Richards stated that incorrect attachments for items G and N  (V. Announcement for Challenge) existed on hard copy, but all attachments were correct on the Faculty Senate website.  Also, the Research Policy Revision (6-11) was correctly moved to Old Business.

           

III.  The minutes of the meeting of December 13, 2001 were approved unanimously after a correction was noted by Jim Richards that Annette Giesecke was in attendance at the 12/13/01 meeting.

 

IV.  Announcements.

Jim Richards stated that nominations for Excellence in Teaching and Undergraduate Academic Advising Awards are now being accepted on the web.

 

V.  Agenda items A. through S. (Announcement for Challenge) were approved unanimously.

A.            Recommendation to add a new concentration: Ancient Greek and Roman Studies, College of Arts and Science

 

B.            Recommendation for revision to the Applied Animal Science concentration, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

 

C.            Recommendation for revision to the General Animal  Science concentration, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

 

D.            Recommendation for revision to the Animal Biotechnology concentration, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

 

E.             Recommendation for revision to the Pre Veterinary Medicine concentration, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

 

F.             Recommendation for the creation of a new Honors B.S., Natural Resource Management, College of Arts & Science

 

G.            Recommendation for the creation of a new Honors, B.S., Health and Physical Education, College of Health and Nursing Science

 

H.            Recommendation for the creation of a new Honors, B.S., Health Behavior Management, College of Health and Nursing Science

 

I.              Recommendation for the creation of a new Honors, B.S., Athletic Training, College of Health and Nursing Science

 

 

J.             Recommendation for revision to the minor  in Jewish Studies

 

K.            Recommendation for revisions to the Master of Science in Nursing: HSAD, College of Health and Nursing Science

R.            Recommendation for a concentration in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering

 

S.             Recommendation for a concentration in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering

 

VI.  Old Business, Research Policy Revision (6-11) was approved unanimously.

           

VII.  There was no New Business.
