Jim Richards spoke of the committee structure problem of the Human Subjects Review Board which falls under the governance of the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.  While Mary Jane Wilkins and Russell Frazer are doing a wonderful job, the board needs to be reconstituted so that individuals dealing with human subjects would be included in the review process.    It was decided that this topic would be brought before Provost Dan Rich at the luncheon with President Roselle.

Rita Girardi asked about University’s preparedness in the event of chemical/biological warfare.  The committee agreed if time permitted to discuss this at the luncheon as well.

Chuck Mason requested information on course changes noting that he could not find the course information form on the facsen web page.  It was recommended that this form be linked to the facsen homepage.  This was done.

Next Meeting: October 15, 2001

Respectfully submitted,

Rita Girardi
