Members present:  Charles Mason, Chair;  Abena Aidoo (Graduate Student), Robert Opila, Andrew Teplyakov, Pablo Huq, Susan Brynteson, Peter Kolchin,  Matthew Kinservik, Richard Fang, Darwin Davis, and Mary Martin: Dewey Caron (excused)

 

New Business

            A)  Introduction of new members

            B)  Chair, Chuck Mason, identified several programs that are expected to come forward this academic year.  In addition, he reported that the Health Services Administration Program and the Hospitality Information Management Program would be up for permanent status review.

           

 

Old Business

            A)  Continued interest in reviewing the Statistics program option for use by all graduate programs including a potential for the development of a Statistics Minor:

This item will remain on the Old Business agenda for future consideration and discussion.

 

            B)  Report given on the Committee's task of reviewing the status of the Health Promotion Program:  Matthew Kinservik reported on the survey that was developed and mailed to all students who completed degrees in HLPR.  The next step to be done is to analyze the survey results.  Other Committee members discussed tasks assigned in the review of the HLPR program.  Chuck Mason indicated that he and Mary Martin would take steps indicated in the Memo of May 11, 2006 from the Chair of the Senate Executive Committee to request a report from the Department/College on the plan as to how the MS in Health Promotion would be supported in order to enhance its chances of success.
