Members present: Charles Mason, Chair; Abena Aidoo (Graduate Student), Robert Opila, Andrew Teplyakov, Pablo Huq, Susan Brynteson, Peter Kolchin, Matthew Kinservik, Richard Fang, Darwin Davis, John Vacca, Mary Martin, and Dewey Caron.

Old Business

A) Discussion continued with regard to the continued work by Groups #3 and #4 for the review of the permanent status of the Health Promotion program.

B) Discussion regarding the memo to the Committee from Dean Betty Paulanka as to the plans for changes in the leadership of the program and support for the program.

The Committee unanimously recommended that the program be given 3 additional years of provisional status meaning that in 2009-2010, an internal PSPR review would be due to the Committee. The Committee also voted to recommend to the Provost Office that an external review not be conducted at this time. Chuck Mason stated that he intended to give the report of the Graduate Studies Committee to the Coordinating Committee in addition to the Senate Executive Committee although not specifically directed to do so in the memo of May 11, 2006 from the Senate Executive Committee.
