Old Business:  Committee discussion on options for the graduate catalog:  Havidan Rodriquez was a guest of the Committee to present information with regard to the history and direction of changes being considered in the University of Delaware Undergraduate and Graduate Catalog.  The considerations discussed were whether the catalog should remain a combined undergrad/graduate document, whether the University is considering an on-line version only; and whether there should be a centralized document either in paper or only on-line of the Program Policy Statements.  Robert Opila was given the charge to write up the Committee's recommendations.  Mary Martin will go forward with setting up the Graduate Studies home page to include links to PDF files of Program Policy Statements for all of the Graduate Programs with the goal to have this completed by Fall 2008 semester.

Announcements:  Chair Chuck Mason reminded the Committee to review and make comments on the Permanent Status Program Review (PSPR) procedures and policy that are on the Senate webpage.  He passed out a preliminary listing of items that the committee is to take a look at and provide feedback to Chuck.  A revised list will be presented at the next meeting.  The objective is to recommend a list of materials, among them an outline for the self-study that should be provided by the program’s unit to the Provost in order to conduct a good PSPR.  Havidan provided a brief overview of the PSPR process.  He asked whether or not a change in the representation of the members of the Graduate Studies Senate Committee on the PSPR should be considered.  The general consensus of the Committee was that no change should take place in the current PSPR members of the review committee.
