New Business:

            A)  Tabled discussion on the Marine and Earth Studies Graduate Policy Document as the document was not complete.

            B)  Matthew Kinservik, member of the President's Strategic Planning Committee, discussed the plans to hold open meetings related to Graduate Studies.  He invited the Graduate Studies Committee members to join the meeting to be held on October 1, at 9 a.m. in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.  He explained that graduate studies would likely be discussed in other venues with other groups.  Discussion among the Committee members with regard to funding issues took place.  Matthew explained that the President's plan was that the Strategic Planning Committee report would identify five major items that would be developed so as to bring the University of Delaware into more prominence.

            C)  Chuck Mason asked each Committee member to report on upcoming graduate program changes that would be coming forward to the Committee.

            D)  Chuck Mason asked the Committee to think about whether any further interest existed in the Committee to survey the delivery of instruction of Statistics throughout the graduate programs.  Based on general sense that this should be dropped, the chair will remove this topic from the list of future items.
