March 5, 2008--Special Meeting Called by the Chair

President's Board Room in Hullihen Hall (room 130)

Members present: Charles Mason, Chair; Darwin Davis, Matthew Kinservik, Mary Martin, Peter Kolchin (excused), Susan Brynteson, Richard Fang, James Flynn, Andrew Teplyakov (excused), Jeffry Fuhrmann, Adam Marsh (excused), Robert Opila, Graduate Students Rachel Schiavone and Alan Stottlemyer.

Old Business: The entire meeting was for the purpose to discuss the Proposal for the addition of the following concentrations in the programs in Biological Sciences:

1) New concentration in Cell and Organ Systems for the M.S. and Ph.D.

2) New concentration in Molecular Biology and Genetics for the M.S. and Ph.D.

3) New concentration in Ecology and Evolution for the M.S. and Ph.D.

4) New concentration in Biotechnology for the M.S.

5) New concentration in Chemistry-Biology Interface for the Ph.D.

6) Approval of the updated Graduate Program Policy for Biological Sciences

All proposals were unanimously approved by the Committee.
