Rationale:
(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the
curriculum or program.)
After evaluation of the current major and its concentrations,
the department was in unanimous consensus that General Animal Science
concentration was not rigorous enough and the Applied
concentration was dated in terms of required classes. In addition, a true merger within the
department of the animal science and food science units was deemed
beneficial. Thus, we request that the
current Animal Science major
and its minors 1) general animal science, 2) animal
biotechnology, 3) applied animal science and 4) preveterinary
medicine be deleted. New majors are
being proposed.
Program Requirements: not applicable
(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the
Course Catalog. If this is a revision,
be sure to indicate the changes being made to the present curriculum.)
