offers course work in a variety of media with the idea that a contemporary
artist is well versed in many areas.
Students complete a core of introductory courses during their
sophomore year, covering printmaking, ceramics, lens media, sculpture and
painting. Art electives are taken the
junior and senior years, with ART416 and ART417 required of B.F.A. majors in
the senior year. Shared studio spaces
are provided for upper level students so that they have the experience of
setting up and working in their own studio.
Fine Arts students will have experiences in computer courses, video
and multi-media courses which prepares them to be competitive in contemporary
art and certain areas of the commercial art world.
