The revised curriculum was approved
by a College wide MBA Committee on February 18, 2009. The same was also shared
with the Department Chairs of the four departments (Accounting and MIS, Business
Administration, Economics, and Finance), which offer classes in the MBA
program. There is only one new course added from Business Administration. A
letter from the Chair of the Business Administration department is attached.
All the other courses are already offered by various departments in the current
MBA program.
Describe the rationale for
the proposed program change(s):
(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the
curriculum or program.)
The UD MBA brand and program curriculum rests
on the four cornerstones captured via E.D.G.E. We would like to offer a
contemporary program that is flexible, innovative and is true to the EDGE
brand. The proposed requirements will place increased emphasis on the EDGE
principles listed below.
Experiential
Learning: Practice makes it perfect. Experience a new way of
learning.
Data-based
Learning: A solid business education is based on facts and academic research.
Global
Perspective: Explore the opportunity and challenges awaiting you in the global
economy.
Ethical
Leadership: Ethical insights are part of the preparation for future global
leadership.
Program Requirements:
(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the
Course Catalog. If this is a revision,
be sure to indicate the changes being made to the current curriculum and include a side-by-side comparison of
the credit distribution before and after the proposed change.)
