Whereas, the Department of Business Administration within the Lerner College of Business is broadening its academic focus to the area of sport management, and

Whereas, the Department of Business Administration currently has B.S. programs in Management, Marketing, Operations Management, and International Business Studies, and an existing Sport Management major is housed within the Department of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences in the College of Health Sciences,

Whereas, faculty in both Departments have determined that the Sport Management major has a better academic fit within the Department of Business Administration based on undergraduate curriculum, student needs, and an emerging national trend of sport management being housed in business schools and/or programs, be it therefore

Resolved that the Faculty Senate recommends that Sport Management will be an undergraduate major in the Department of Business Administration.
