Dear Laura,

The College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to support the proposed new course, SCEN 550, which is part of a new program to prepare students to become middle school science teachers. This course will help students to bridge the gap between the science and science education courses that they take during their years in college, and their first years of teaching science in the classroom. It is my understanding that resources to teach this course will be provided on a rotating basis by the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the Department of Biological Sciences, and the Department of Geology.
