There are no actual program
changes. The numbering and home unit for
one of the required courses has changed.
The course entitled, “Teaching English as a Second Language” was previously
homed in the Department of Linguistics and had the number LING 698.
The course change submitted to the
Faculty Senate Course Challenge List will transfer primary ownership of the
course from Linguistics to the

The M.A. in
TESL program must be changed to reflect the new number for the required
course. The old course was 3 credits and
that has not changed. Thus, there is no
change in the overall number of credits required in the program.
