None.
Describe the rationale for
the proposed program change(s):
(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the
curriculum or program.)
1 Changing
the wording from “disabilities” to “at risk” in the title of a content
requirement will broaden the area of the course requirement to all at risk
populations. However, the option for a student to choose a course that focuses
on developmental disabilities and families will remain.
2. The
addition of IFST 331 (Youth-At-Risk) as an option for the “Individuals and
Families at Risk” requirement will provide additional course options to meet
this requirement.
3. The
addition of IFST 472 (Substance Abuse and the Family) will provide instruction
in an important content area and result in an additional course option by
providing an alternative to IFST 475 (Topics in Individual & Family
Studies), which typically is only offered once a year.
Program Requirements:
(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the
Course Catalog. If this is a revision,
be sure to indicate the changes being made to the current curriculum and include a side-by-side comparison of
the credit distribution before and after the proposed change.)
