Jeffrey Jordan:
Among the roles played by UD none is more important than
that of educating students. The Faculty Senate has a duty to ensure the
quality of that education by its vetting of proposed courses, its review of
academic offerings, its deliberations regarding educational matters, and the
vital committee work performed throughout the year. Helping to discharge
that duty would be a prominent goal of mine if elected. My history with the
senate includes serving as its vice-president, chairing the UGS committee, and
chairing the library committee. For several years I was the senate
parliamentarian, as well as a member of the Executive committee, and
Coordinating committee, and I am currently on the Faculty Welfare &
Privileges committee. These experiences have deepened my conviction in
the importance of the senate and my appreciation for the service of its members.
