how this new/revised curriculum supports the 10 goals of undergraduate
education: http://www.ugs.udel.edu/gened/
Develop the ability to integrate academic knowledge
with experiences that extend the boundaries of the classroom (Goal 7.)
Identify other units affected
by the proposed changes:
Approvals attached from FREC, ACCT, LEAD, and BUAD.
Describe the rationale for
the proposed program change(s):
This minor is being
proposed concurrent with a proposal to revise the Health Behavior Science major
requirements. The proposed revision to the major eliminates the existing
concentration in Leisure Service Management. The proposed minor will provide
the knowledge and skills needed for management positions in leisure service
settings. Converting the existing concentration to a minor will enable more
students with an interest in leisure service management to access these
courses.
Program Requirements:
This minor is
designed to provide students the knowledge and skills needed for management positions
in public, private, commercial, and nonprofit leisure service agencies. Admission to the minor requires a minimum GPA
of 2.0 based on at least 12 units of coursework. A grade of C- or better in all
required courses is necessary for successful completion of the minor.
