MEDT 390 Introduction to Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics.  Course title revision with credit change from 2 to 3 credits.  MEDT 390 is being expanded to include additional material in the area of genetics.  This will improve the students’ understanding of a vital area in the practice of current clinical laboratory science.

By having a better understanding of genetics and applications in molecular diagnostics, students will be able to think more critically to solve health problems related to these areas.

The proposed revision is an adjustment of total credits required for the degree from 123 to 124 credits.  This is needed to accommodate the change in MEDT 390 to 3 credits.
