objectives of the major/minor/concentrations)?
(Be aware that approval
of the curriculum is dependent upon these courses successfully passing through
the Course Challenge list. If there are no new courses enter “None”)

KAAP 616 Advanced Mammalian Physiology II
KAAP 801 Graduate Seminar in Applied Physiology
Explain, when appropriate,
how this new/revised curriculum supports the 10 goals of undergraduate
education: http://www.ugs.udel.edu/gened/
Identify other units affected
by the proposed changes:
(Attach permission from the affected units. If no other unit is affected, enter “None”)
None.
Describe the rationale for
the proposed program change(s):
(Explain your reasons for creating, revising, or deleting the
curriculum or program.)
1)
Our
department has recently split and we now have a new course prefix for
Kinesiology and Applied Physiology (KAAP).
2)
In
discussions with Randy Duncan, chair of Biology, we have decided to teach a 2
semester course in Advanced Mammalian Physiology. These courses will be cross-listed with both
BISC and KAAP and team taught by BISC and KAAP faculty. These courses will now make up the first year
of physiology.
3)
We
have added a graduate seminar course specifically for our PhD program.
The following changes
were made to the Program Policy Statement:
1)
Change the tense of this
policy statement reflecting that the program has been approved and is no longer
a ‘proposed’ program.
2)
Change the name of the
department to Kinesiology and Applied Physiology throughout.
3)
Change the name of the
graduate school to the Office of Graduate and Professional Education
throughout.
4)
Course prefix HESC
was replaced with KAAP throughout.
5)
Professor Snyder-Mackler
was added to the list of affiliated faculty.
6)
‘Curriculum Committee’
replaces ‘Graduate Studies Committee’ to reflect revisions to KAAP faculty
bylaws.
Program Requirements:
(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the
Course Catalog. If this is a revision,
be sure to indicate the changes being made to the current curriculum and include a side-by-side comparison of
the credit distribution before and after the proposed change.)
